The Jitong that are often seen outside the temples actually did not originate from long-established Taoist beliefs. The traditional Chinese vocabulary that we use in today’s society was not carried over from China. The idea of nationalism that is often attributed to Western ideals, in reality, might be an entirely new concept altogether.
In the past, Dr. Tse-Yi Wang examined multiple perspectives, such as the DNA in our blood, the route of human migration, and the contextual history of social development to change the world and even the Taiwanese’s own understanding of Taiwan. Today, he will share with us things never heard of before and some stone-cold facts, to shatter our previous misconceptions and lead us in exploring Taiwan’s truths once more!
Dr. Tse-Yi Wang has a professional background in financial investment and information engineering. At Mackay Hospital, he has worked on Dr. Ma-li Lin’s team, the mother of blood research in Taiwan, and has developed academic expertise in genetic data analysis and the history of human migration. Nowadays, he is working with his friends to establish the “Green Oil Biological and Financial Information Company” to engage in information and data-related research and assist in the development of other specialized fields.
