Wandering Melodic Road
(The Moon and Wall)
With the phenomenon of K-pop rising to heights higher than before, the world’s eyes and ears are set on the birthplace of the Hallyu Wave. Yet, the styles of music within Korea are multifaceted, and there exists special groups like The Tune who tread on the blurry line between modern and traditional. Having traveled across the world showcasing their unique sound to a diverse set of audiences, The Tune takes TAIWANfest down a “Wandering Melodic Road” (The Moon and Wall) in an interactive virtual concert that calls upon stories that are so rich in Korea’s traditional folklore. The Tune not only provides an enchanting performance for listeners new to contemporary Korean music, but also leads us in an interactive workshop introducing traditional instruments that are themselves living stories. Where can this vibrant musical path take us? The Tune might just show us the way.

About The Artist
The Tune is a World Music band based on traditional Korean music such as traditional rhythms, folk songs and shamanist music, composed of Haegeum (Traditional String) and Janggu (Traditional Percussion), Piri and Taepyeongso (Traditional woodwinds), percussions, keyboards and vocals.
They have built their own musical style through constant research and experimentation with traditional Korean and shamanist music. Korean traditional music, jazz, contemporary, and gypsy music are all engrossed in their music, so that the audience feel the mysterious aura of the oriental atmosphere.
Recently, The Tune has been moving across many countries, meeting audiences of many nationalities and trying to promote their music.
