Dance is an artform that transcends borders, cultures, and languages. From the ballroom to the streets, there is a style of dance for everyone of all ages. How does this unspoken form of expression shape your relationship with your community, with your culture? What’s it like to pursue being the next kpop idol? Jasmin Yeung and YJ Lee from VYbE Dance Company take a look back and reflect on their journeys and experiences that dance has provided. About The Artist / Jasmin Yeung
Jasmin Yeung started dancing when she was 2 years old. Since then, she has trained with many local and international choreographers through VYbE Dance Company and travelled the world. Her VYbE story began in 2003 as a dance student. With hard work, dedication and a great support system, she slowly worked her way up in becoming a student leader, dance teacher, choreographer, program director, and now, the Owner and Creative Director. Outside of VYbE she has judged many Urban dance competitions, worked on projects/events with Nickelodeon, Toronto Police Services, Toronto Crime Stoppers, Raptors 905 of MLSE, and so much more. Jasmin is more than just a dancer. While her life story revolves around dance, she’s become a professional, well-rounded, and multi-talented entrepreneur. She also recently adopted a very cute rescue dog named Ribbon.
About The Artist / YJ Lee
YJ is a Korean-Canadian who has been dancing for about 12 years. He started dancing through KPOP covers when he was 11 years old. From then on, he has auditioned for various KPOP entertainment companies and had several callbacks! Through his passion for KPOP, he was able to be a part of two KPOP cover dance teams and learned more about other different dance styles by attending dance studios as a student. He first joined VYbE Dance Company as a beginner student, then joined the advanced team, and now he is one of the directors and faculty of VYbE Dance Company. He has also participated and won in many performances & competitions for both the KPOP cover dance and HipHop Street dance. His passion for dancing only grew and now he teaches KPOP and Jazz Funk all over the GTA. If you need to learn KPOP covers in the GTA, YJ is the one to look for!

VYbE Dance Company emerged onto the Canadian dance scene in 1996. They have made an exciting impact on audiences with their highly energized performances and their street style savvy and unique choreography has made them widely known and well respected within the dance industry. VYbE dancers can be seen appearing in numerous events, concerts, TV programs, and commercials both locally, and internationally.
Our mission is to create a community for our members to become better versions of themselves through our shared love of dance, to explore their creativity and diversity in a positive and safe space.
